| 2007 taught us that all the wx legends fail given time? that Sat nite/Sun morn had strong winds & our corn that was 3 leaves that was next to a road or a field path was killed dead for say 8-12 rows in the field......now, for the rest of that corn, our problem was the next 3 nights all dropped below 32 also. but that first night was the coldest & had the highest winds and did the most damage and no frost was able to lay that night.
also, there are way more factors to frost-freeze damage than just temperature..........soil moisture, wind direction, humidity...etc.......
the growing point on all this corn was still below soil surface, made no difference in the least.
