Central, SD | I am in the pocket in central SD of severe drought and it is not a pretty sight. Some guys are done with corn and got a good amount of beans in, some taking their time on corn and some not started yet. Planting conditions are the worst I have seen. Down pressure on planters maxed out and planters still not going into the ground in areas of the field. We are slowed down to 3.5-4mph with max pressure. Probably going to put half the corn acres in now and then wait for a rain to decided if its to late for the other half or not. Havent had a rain event over a half inch since august at our farm. | |
