That's pretty cool. During WW2 my dad also stayed back here to farm. There was no certificate to my knowledge. I had an uncle who was held out as 4f due to an illness. He always said there was quite a stigma to that. Another uncle saw extensive action as a Marine in the south Pacific. And another uncle who had just shipped out from California as part of the Navy when the war ended. All 4 were good men that I was honored to know.
