Subject: RE: Farmers during WWII

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
Every county draft board was different. The county my Dad was in took him even though he was in his early thirties. He was single at the time but there was no one else to help his Dad out on the farm. Grandpa had to let all of the rented land go while Dad was away in the service. Came back and had to start all over. Worked for an uncle for a few years before he could find a farm he could buy for himself. He always thought the draft board kind of manipulated who they selected to skew things to their own advantage.
