Subject: Farmers during WWII

NCIN
I was given a certificate today that my dad received during WWII. My dad was not in any type of military service and I was always told it was because he was a farmer plus he had an older brother in the service.
The certificate says: Certificate of Recognition for
4-H Service on the Home Front

"This is to certify that BB of Huntington County  has made a definite  contribution to the war effort through active participation the 4-H Club program which has included the production of food; the conservation of food, energy, time and health; the collection of salvage materials; the sale of war bonds and stamps; and other community war service;">

For meritorious service on the 4-H Home Front     October 1, 1944

The certificate has a big red "V" on it along with an American and 4-H flag

This originated from the Purdue University, Department of Agriculture Extension

Pretty neat or me to get but I also know he had several friends go to war and was grateful for their service
