Subject: composite decking

St.Clair Co. IL.
ok here's the deal, my wife wants a new rear house deck, It now has a treated wood deck that lasted us a good 20 yrs. but now she wants a composite type, I don't but she does and when the wifes happy life is good!! LOL
so today we went and looked at Menards and Lowes, Menards has a type that is sort of hollow I guess you would discribe it and reversible, and Lowes had a type that was sort of W shaped on the bottom ( didnt like this one at all it was warped already on shelve. one guy I talked to said get the solid type just like a actual board,
now none were cheap and a guy I talked to said the hollow type tends to fill with water and freeze in the winter if the correct screws arent used and used correctly and installed correctly
so what say you guys that have put in a composite type deck
I would really like to hear a lot of bad so I can use wood,
BUT thats not what she wants so tell me the good the bad the ugly
TIA Bob
