| We have a springer spaniel that was ran over by both tires on a 3/4 ton truck when he was maybe 10 months old. Broke his shoulder and ribs, collapsed his lungs and had lacerations to the head and body. He was a sorry sight to see and uncle offered to take him out back and end it there and then. Decided to bring him to vet hospital and sure glad we did as today, 2 years later, you would never know it happened. Dog can run down a woodchuck and catches pheasants out of the air.
Blood transfusions aren't cheap and I think the whole deal ended up being over 5k. He now has full health insurance. But we are glad we did it.
Don't give up and I certainly would't amputate without getting a second opinion. They are tough animals. Hope your situation ends as well as ours did. | |
