North Central Kansas | The interest charge on $25/acre land is a lot different than the cost of borrowing on $2500-10,000/acre ground. Hard to pay for land now in a few crops.
I bought an 80 in 1998 for $465/acre. My dad told me he had a chance to buy it for $80/ acre. I asked him why they didn't buy. He said they had bought other ground and couldn't swing it. One quarter that my aunt and uncle inherited my grandfather bought in the 1930's. Mortgage was held by a life insurance company.
3.5" of rain here last night. No field work here.
