Subject: RE: Stumbling calf and bloated cow

Missouri

Gave Banamine, a "steroid", can't find the ticket for the actual name, and an Sel/E even though the vet wasn't sure it was needed.

After a night in a dry lot pen with a good grass square the bloat is gone and the belly looks much better.  Other than still being loose, the cow's stool still looks normal.  He wondered if the calf got under a belly kick and we just can't find the marks or swelling.  Said he's had a several calves go through a 3-4 day swelling/healing process from injuries this spring but this calf has more try in it than most of those injuries did so it looks a little different.

Who knows, time will tell.
