SW Iowa | It's called a "super highway" for a reason.
The majority of travelers on the "big roads" are under time constraints, meeting deadlines, etc. Speed does mean something important to the majority of users of the interstate highway system. It was designed for speed, comfort, and safety, and not for grandpas going to visit the grand kids on a Sunday. 80mph would work for most places. If you don't agree, then by all means slow down and gawk, just stay in the right lane, and keep an eye on your rear view mirror for someone who is gawking around too, only going faster than you and doesn't see you..
I think it best you stay on two lane roads, maybe even gravel. Much slower traffic, and much more to gawk at. When I am in no hurry and on a Sunday drive to take in the scenery, that is where I am. | |
