I'm not sure about your motherboard but my HP Intel i7 laptop runs quite warm with no issues on daily use but if left running working very hard 24/7 for days will do a thermal shutdown after 2-3 days. I used it to monitor HD network cameras using Blue Iris NVR software. Yours should (hopefully?) have similar protection.
Anyone upgrade CPU's?
