I'm responsible for keeping a 265,000 bushel per day plant fed at full rate, every day
that means I am going to buy corn from "somebody" when things are tight
farmers might as well be that "somebody", but have difficulty separating the basis and futures pricing decisions
If it made me "twisted", I would not have survived 24+ years in this business
not my first rodeo, but not that many left to go....

Ray its pretty simple. The price you offer is less than what farmers think is a fair price for their grain they have in storage. A farmer cares about what price they receive. When it costs them $4.20 per bushel you are going to get crickets until price goes above COP unless someone needs cash. |
