Subject: Nurse cow + 4 bottle calves question

Gladwin Mi
I was thinking of buying a milk cow from local dairy (one of thier culls) I talked with him today and said I could get a middle lactation 40-50 pound a day producer four new born calves. I want to stick them in a pen together all the time not take the calves in and out. Will it work? The pen is around 700 sq' so there would be lots of room. Cow would be bought at Hamburg price and avg price for calves. So it's a 2500$ experiment. Trying to come up with a lower cost calf for next turn. If it worked I have 4 pens I could do and was thinking of leaving calves on 90 days so 4 turns a year at 16 makes 64 nice calves. Good or bad idea?
