My registered bull and this year's retained bull calf are in their own pasture now until summer. Last evening I gave them a bucket of sweet feed as a gentling and getting-them-to-come-to-me-when-I-call treat. They get 6-7 lb each in this portable bunk near the pasture gate maybe once a week or so. I took a couple phone pics of this father and son pair. Z072 has remarkable eyeset. You can hardly see his eyes from the front. I'm told this is a good thing in a grass bull as his eyes don't get irritated when grazing. At 11 months of age, son 29 is not as long as I would like but maybe he will grow out a bit. He is out of a very good, moderate weight, registered cow related to Proficient N093. I had a rough time picking which bull calf to retain but overall this one should work out. He should have pretty good calving ease. He certainly has his sire's SC. #29 weighed in at 976 lb last week. They both seem to have pretty good feet and legs. Better than my first bull choice as was pointed out here and I appreciate. Here are a couple pics of the pair.
