Subject: RE: Plant behind InLine Ripper?

W.C. Mo.
I mounted a couple spider closing wheels behind each shank. Rip it in fall and plant right on the mounds in the spring. Narrow point. Been doing it for 12-15 years. Only year it did not work excellent was one extremely dry winter with no rain to settle the rips. I planted like always and had a 3" rain shortly afterwards--some of the seed settled quit deep after the rain. :-( We have hard clay pan soils that are basically impermeable to water. Corn roots go down 2-4" below rips and bean roots the same the year after with no ripping before beans.
