Stafford County, Kansas | Does he have any interest in farming? When I was in grade school I had a big garden from age 7 to about 8th grade. Towards the end I had about 2 acres of pumpkins that I marketed and sold. Also rotated with sweet corn and beans. Had a bucket calf turned 500lb heifer during that time frame that I could usually keep fed with the residue off of the garden and I had a cover crop of rye that I grazed over it in the winter. Good times. Grew out of the gardening and bought a round baler when I was a sophomore to do custom baling. Learned a lot, dad usually just shook his head.
I firmly believe that good hard work, and honest pay will teach you more than any counseling session.
