Floyd County, Iowa | I'm a little late replying to this, but I served on a jury a few years ago. It happened to be during summer, so it wasn't a major problem. I'm glad I served, and would do it again, no matter the time of year. I found it interesting, to say the least.
The case was an injury lawsuit over a DUI/OWI accident. And no, we didn't make a big cash award.
Not a high profile case, but enough to convince me that if I ever get into a situation that needs a jury to decide, I want the jury to be intelligent, common sense people, that are willing to do their civic duty, knowing that their input could be a make-or-break thing.
It's pretty serious stuff to the palintiff and defendant. | |
