Former neighbor used to say....."when they ask you a question, cup your hand around your ear and loudly say "WHAT?"."
But I think that you'll be excused by merely telling them that you need to be in the farm fields for planting, etc. showboat
That doesn't work "here". I got called for jury duty some years back, at that time my dairy farm was a one-man band. I told the judge that, and he told me, "Too Bad". You will be here or be in contempt. Dumped an extra load on my wife and made for some long days(trial took a week). Really bugged me when the lady sitting next to me said,"I am off from my job for vacation this week" and the judge told her to leave.
At the end, it was a good experience. I learned a lot about how the "justice" system works, or doesn't. |
