Capac, Michigan | You guys should all feel lucky just getting county duty. Last fall (13) I got called for federal jury duty in Detroit. Got down there and they tell us (at least 150 people) that if we were chosen we would have to serve for 18 months. Of course I was 1 of 23 people chosen to sit on a grand jury. People were using every excuse in the book and getting denied. So we had to go every Tuesday and Thursday every other week for 6 months active duty then be on recall status for 12. I am a dairy farmer so I had to make some adjustments with my helpers. In good weather it would take 1hr 20 min to get there if snowy 2 and a half. We got paid $40/day and .565 cents a mile. It was super interesting. Some of the stuff you would think only happened on tv was happening in real life and much worse.
