Subject: RE: Merger talks with NEW and Western Iowa Co-op

Floyd County, Iowa
putt-putt:

I don't have a dog in your fight. I'm a shareholder in the one going on over here, and will be glad when the votes are finalized next week (tired of the radio ads and fliers posted everywhere- worse than a presidential election!!!). But....

--------" If so, "why not just lower their fert/chemical prices and raise their grain bids up front," is a responce that I got from a local farmer. "-------

That would be fine if all the customers getting the price perks were shareholders, but here, guessing about 1/4 of customers are not shareholders. Should my ownership and loyalty monetarily benefit those that won't invest and buy a share? Granted, you want and need their business, but there has to be a benefit for shareholders. At least with a dividend (wow, $30 an acre???), it goes only to those that invest in the Co-op.

Good luck!
