Ea. Washington | Brings to mind two infamous sayings around here.
#1 "Used but good" Bought out a neighbor who was a real packrat but he always tied a wire tag on everything and labeled it "used but good" and what it was off of. Some of it has come in pretty handy.
#2 "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without." My son is very good at building new things and does really neat work and keeps stuff up but kind of balks at rebuilding wear parts etc. IE "grunt labor". Those things seem to get set aside and I get asked if I would like to work on them. I like to do that kind of stuff and try to fix it as good as new or better. He unfortunately or not has never seen poor crops, low prices and 18% interest at the same time. Have a Grandson who likes to fix things so they still do the job so maybe the age old struggle will go on for a long time. | |
