| Why does the post have to remain? Two years ago we did a kitchen remodel that included removing a load bearing wall, wall was original outside wall of the house before having an addition added on so supported the addition as well. We took out the wall & put a wooden beam in overhead to carry the weight. We had am island put in as well. I don't think I'd like a post in it & I know my wife definitely wouldn't | |
