Midwest | Corn, Beans and Wheat all trade 120 thousand + contracts per day and Hogs. and cattle trade 10 to 15 thousand - contracts per day. Poultry does not even have a contract. It looks to me that the major players in livestock do not even need futures as a method of price protection do to consolidated concentration. All that is left is some small time spec traders who are somewhat disconnected from the reality of the cash market. | |
