Likely depends on the size of sale you are trying to put on. Here in Indiana the Ethanol plants routinely push .10 to .15 cents for (certain) producers. Even a small producer will get a .05 cent push over published bids, Elevators really don't have that to give but perhaps .02 or .03 can be gained.
This whole concept is poor management in my opinion, why does farmer Brown qualify for .15 cents more than farmer Smith. It has always seemed to me that if you sell at the published value then you are in effect subsidizing the larger BTO who will get .15 cents or more than you will receive. He then is in a better position to outbid you for that farm next to you......But that is the way the game is played here
