Your bottleneck is the 512 upload speed, video will need to be a tad chunky for that speed to work. If you access much video, you might be dealing with 256 speed pretty often, which doesn't really do video well.
You probably will be more into stills every few seconds, rather than actual video? That works at 256.....
Would you set up a vid recorder to preserve the data, with access to the stream? The trouble is how do you preserve an on site recorder during theft or fire.
I think any one piece is pretty easy to do; putting everything you want together will be your challenge.
