Texas/New Mexico Stateline | It is kinda like the "ringing the bell" for the Navy Seals when they quit. Leaving the training because you couldn't make it is embarrassing and the process is designed to be shameful. If it was easy to just walk away (like roommates) they guys wouldn't try as hard as they do. But to hear them describe it when they couldn't make it work was devastating.
Marriage should be like that. Making a spiritual/legal/public promise to stay together should be something hard to break. It just raises it to a much higher level and stabilizes our society. (or at least it should)
