Subject: copy or move files from old 98 machine.

East central Iowa

I have a network.  The one machine I'd like to put the files on is a Vista Ultimate.

The 98 machine has no USB.  It does have and Ethernet connection that I haven't tried yet but given it boots and runs I assume it works.

I tried booting from Linux via a CD but the CD drive evidently doesn't work or it won't boot from the CD that I've used on other computers.  (Puppy Linux not some big distro)

Do you think I can hook into the network with 98 and transfer files?

It has an FTP program and if the Ethernet works I guess I could transfer files to a folder on the Internet but that would be slower than using my network.
