They will need all the coal, natural gas and petroleum based fuels to generate all that electricity.

The whole point of EVs is to switch to renewables, which can power more than what we need. Utilities can install solar as low as $1.40/watt, solar and wind keep being the leaders for new power plant installations, at 55% of new capacity, not coal, natural gas or petrol. That's no "fairy tale," but reality that happened in 2014.

And to clean up all the pollution caused by the production and disposal of the batteries and other components of the "green" friendly cars.

Actually, Tesla batteries are recycled as solar energy storage for Solar City powered homes, and for free. Tesla is building a huge battery factory for their next generations of cars, and will be able to recycle the battery materials when the batteries reach end of life. They are too precious to be "disposed of."

Oh, and don't forget the carbon based fuels needed to produce the biofuels.

Biofuels are an environmental aberration, I don't expect them to last long. There's no real mandate or subsidies for biodiel, and the mandate for ethanol will disappear on its own once most cars are EVs and larger vehicles are diesel or natural gas or other clean technology that does not require ethanol. By 2050, any petrol left will probably be reserved mostly for chemicals like plastic for which there is no real replacement yet, although it would be great to see such replacement materials, like plastic made from soybean or rapeseed oil.
