Subject: RE: Need to find an ISP--cellular or satellite?

Bremen, KS
I kept looking and finally decided to call US Cellular. After it was all said and done I have a router on its way with a 20GB shared data plan between the two smart phones and the router. The agent also bumped us up to unlimited minutes and unlimited texts and the total bill is about $10/mo more than the current ISP and cell bills combined. I should have a day or two to play with it so I can be sure this is what I want (I'm about 97.5% certain it is) and can cancel the order to Hughes.

I also found out during the social hour after church that AT&T does indeed have cell/data service in this area as of the past couple of months as one of the other members works for them and had to switch so went to an AT&T hotspot as he needs to use a VPN so satellite is out of the question.

I will have to see what kind of address the router gets although I suspect USCC uses CGNAT and I'll have to figure out some other method of remote access. It's a trade I decided to make to avoid satellite. Hopefully, all of this is a stop-gap measure and something less restrictive will become available in the future. Still, 20G should serve us fairly well. For a while. :-)
