all over Iowa | Bad, bad deal. Unfortunately that can happen when liquid stands too long without agitation. I've seen it happen when someone sold all the cattle and there is a 1-2 ton left in the tank which then sits for several months until new cattle come in. Rumensin actually floats up instead of settling to the bottom when it separates, so the problem usually comes when they want to finish the old stuff off before bringing new stuff in - when they get to the last of it the Rumensin concentration is way too high. The answer to leftover liquid is to bring a new load of liquid in when the new cattle come in, and filling the tank agitates the old and new together and eliminates all problems. And then agitate regularly (it's not just a recommendation, it's an FDA regulation). |
