North Dakota | Same thing happened to a neighbor. This is what his family did:
1. Had neighbors and friends that were also collectors inventory collection and divide into 3 lots. This way they were able to target key items and split them up so there was a draw for each auction they were going to hold and they had a basic idea of total worth of collection.
2. Had auctions during local toy shows or in conjunction with them. That way most of the people interested were already in the area.
3. Advertised much like a farm auction, in local newspapers where the auctions were going to take place and they were somewhat spread throughout the state so as to draw in collectors from a larger geographic area.
Hope this helps some. Not an easy task for family with obvious emotional ties, but neighbors, family and friends will help them through the process. | |
