Yes, there is an edit/time stamp to show if an original thread is edited. If someone sees a post was edited after they read it the first time or replied and the original post was change in meaning, that's not right and the reason an edit explanation is needed.

My assumption and own idea is that if it's minor, don't put an explanation. If you change the meaning or something, put an explanation.
