I like the 1850 and had good crops with it.  It was set up for 15 inches originally but converted it back to 7.5 inch rows.  I like quick canopy down here.  It's a heavy enough drill it really works the corn stalks over and makes a good seedbed.  You do have to watch your depth and my worst complaint is they tend to shoot 3 beans then a gap.  There are many good mods available to correct the drill's problems but I don't have them handy.  There is a friend on here who has modified his if you are interested.
