I don't follow the conspiracy argument that our government is out to start a war with Russia.

We reneged on our obligations to defend Ukraine. Ukraine gave up its nukes on condition of security guarantees by the West and here we are sitting on our thumbs while Russia annexes whatever it likes. Why wouldn't we have sent troops already if this was about the government itching for war with Russia?

The right wing was castigating Obama for letting Putin walk all over him and not sending the marines or at least guns and ammunition to defend Ukraine. You are telling me Obama is trying to get us into war with Russia when he could have started one a long time ago.

Sometimes when it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, its a duck. Putin is a dictator for all essential purposes and he is consolidating power.
