For you location I have your GDU's at 2660 from May-Aug. A conservative approach would be to take your gdu's from June 1st till Sept 1st assuming you were in v1 around the end of May. That gives you 2169 GDU's, 105 day corn requires around 2600, maybe more. I would think you should have hit black layer by the end of sept, not the middle.
