Even worse down here. 8" and 6" turbines being pulled out non stop to drop in 20-35hp submersible pumps instead. Realistically we have lost more than 50% of our aquifer.

What scares me is I saw some data from the water conservation office that showed total usage was INCREASING still. There was a peak in the 1960s-1970s, it dropped some in the 1980s and 1990s and was increasing again. Across the board for the whole Panhandle region we are pumping more than ever before.

That is insane and irresponsible.
