Every farm is different. Every farmer is different. I pay different amounts than others for fertilizer, seed, chemicals, machinery, and living.
I used to not understand bigger operations always out bidding me in my younger days. How does it work? I would ask myself...... Instead of complaining and using it as an excuse for failure, I have used it as a learning experience.
My school of thought is if I can get yields that match or exceed others while shaving expenses, I can offer more rent and show the same or better profit than others. Once operation is a decent size, starts working a lot better and the buying power starts kicking in making the profits even better.
