Centre county Pennsylvania, USA
Historically, Pennsylvania corn basis has been, and continues to be, positive every month of the year. Recently, basis has often peaked above + 50 cents in summer months here in central PA. I think that means that Pennsylvania has historically been a year around corn deficit state? Selling into a corn deficit market does provide a safer environment to invest in on-farm storage that other areas (states) may not have. No question, one size does not fit all, what works here may not work there.
