Subject: RE: sanding oak floor

Southeast Minnesota

I pulled all nails and staples. Then used big belt sander. I used handheld belt along walls. I then used industrial random orbit. I then used handheld random orbit along edges. Two coats oil base gloss polyurethane followed by 1 coat satin. Applied with lambs wool applicator brush. The oil base will give a richer, deeper tint over time compared to water base poly. The floor now has 7 years of hot wheel racing, farming, and overall heavy use. It could use a light sanding and new coat on top.
