Don't remove it if it is ink filled.  I tried that once and got to buy a new pair of jeans.  

The magnetic kind, if not ink filled, can be removed by placing the magnet on the correct side.  It will pull the release back and allow you to remove the sides.

Since it is marked as ink filled, I would return it the next time it is convenient and have it removed by the clerk.
