Subject: Cork tiles need re-surfacing.

North East Wimmera district of Victoria.

G'day from Aussy.
Our kitchen floor has cork tiles that may have not been re sealed for many years.
We have owned the house for 9 years, and it was not 'fresh' when we moved in.
It is now getting a bit down at heel and needs doing well.
Questions,-
Would it be a 'handyman' job - or should I get an expert.?
Presuming the whole floor needs sanding to get down to fresh and clean cork, any thoughts on how much depth to take off.? How thick would cork tiles be anyway!?
Are there water based as well as [presumably] oil based 'twin pack' floor sealants?
Which would you recommend?
Presuming the same type of sealants are available in Australia as in the USA.
Thanks in advance for the usual help from NAT'ers.

Wife's comment - how long to clear the odour from the house?!  Think she may leave.
