King City, Mo | Very warm (NOT HOT which kills yeast) 110-115 degrees:
2 cups milk
1/3 cup melted butter
Add: 2 cups flour
2 pkgs yeast (I like Quick Rise)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup sugar
Beat 2 min @ medium speed
Stir in: 2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
Beat 2 more min @ high speed
Add 3-4 cups flour to desired consistency ready to knead.
Knead 8-10 minutes - cover with cloth
Let dough rest 20 minutes
Punch down & roll out into crescents or cloverleaf
Let raise (usually at least 2-3 hours)
Bake @ 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes until rich golden brown
Brush with melted butter while hot | |
