Yes Red the Gators don't like cold water, when the first cool spells show up in Sep they start finding a place to winter up, and we don't start seeing them again to some time in March, when they first show up in the spring, you will see them sunning out of the water ever chance the get >< a Gator catches he stuff on the surface, when fishing YOYOS,, if you catch a fish it is pulled to the top of the water, a Gator just will not leave it there, when he takes the fish, he tares the yoyo all to bits,
In La. Gator season is in the Month of Sept. if it turn cold in the late part of Sept, they will quit going to the Bait
