Think it wasn't until 2011 that it finally became legal in Texas.
I fish quite a bit with a rod and reel, but sticking my feet or hands in a hole just isn't for me. There are some very healthy sized snapping turtles in the rivers, lakes, and creeks. Sure don't like the idea of tangling with one of them. The snakes are bad enough too. Also have alligators and large gar in the lakes I fish.
Any of you guys noodle? Ever since that first tournament in Pauls Valley Oklahoma, that type fishing has gained in popularity. Don't know anyone here that does it. Read about a 19 year old girl from Texas that won last year's tournament at Pauls Valley. Believe the fish weighed 72 pounds. That's a pretty big fish to catch by hand and the girl looked like she might weigh only 100 pounds or less.

I'm just going to keep fishing with a hook.:-)
