I'm not against forward contracting, we do and have done lots of it, but try raising 2 or 3 consecutive crops that yield 50-60% of "normal" and then see how aggressive you feel about selling something that you might not have.  There IS risk in selling $4 corn too, more risk than selling $6+ corn.
