Dearfield Co. | you could of named the title of this small town anywhere------------I look at little towns I traveled thru as a child that had 4 or 5 restaurants and a couple of motels along with a car dealer or 2 and now there is empty buildings. I see prime commercial property filled with churches that pay very little in taxes on main streets as well as see abandoned churches in these same abandoned business buildings. There are towns all over the US that offer tax abatements as well as free property for business that can't get any takers. With all the regulations and taxes a small service business in these towns can barely survive just paying these expenses much less paying wages. Communities band together and have stockholder grocery stores that go broke because even the stock holders won't support them and go to the next big town for the big box store that always has birds in the roof and mice.
I believe there is no answer-----------no jobs, no draw, etc. etc etc. | |
