Regina/ 14 miles South of Moose Jaw Saskatchewan
I don't have a lot of first hand experience with how successful this has been - but here's a link to info on Mossbank Sk (pop 327) - http://www.mossbank.ca/main-page.html

Mossbank is about 20 miles south of our farm (not the go-to place in most cases Moose Jaw is a closer city) - But Mossbank appears to have done a couple of things to counter the rural decline: They set up an "economic development officer" - her job is to promote & recruit. They have tried to draw in the craft trade (this seems to be a common approach in a number of rural Saskatchewan communities) - low operating costs, and cost of living can support the craft industry that can be satisfying, but not overly profitable.

Mossbank also has 1 "satellite" JD dealership - they are often the "go to" dealer in the area, despite one of their larger setups being in Moose Jaw - that particular store has a better shop and parts reputation than some of the bigger outlets.

They've also tried to capitalize on local history through their proximity to Old Wives lake....

Hopefully the website link works & you can get a sense of what they've been trying -

Hope this helps...
