Ia) | I read the Enron book (The Smartest One In The Room, or something to that effect), and in that book they pretty much stated that statistically, playing the trading game is a zero sum game at best. You win some, and you lose some. Sounds like legalized gambling to me. Not really sure if that somehow equates to market stabilization or not, but it was originally designed to be a risk management tool for farmers if I remember my history correctly.
