We will not be able to drive ethanol prices up because of the consumption in the US. We will probable be using more ethanol in the US then we have ever used before but it still will be no were close to enough consumption to drive ethanol prices up. We have to have ethanol exports along with the US consumption. We can produce a lot more ethanol then the US will ever use. I think exports are going to suffer because of cheap crude prices.

Last year the US used about 13.176 billion gallons of ethanol and that took roughly about 4.7 billion bu of corn to produce that much ethanol. We have to export ethanol to get to USDA's projection of how much corn gets used for ethanol.
