Subject: RE: section control setup for a floater

You can add an EZ-Boom to the system for section control. To do rate control through the 440 and section control through the EZ-Boom you'll need a Y-harness.

I would recommend replacing the 440 with the EZ-Boom entirely, and doing section and rate control through the EZ-Boom. The EZ-Boom will plug directly onto the 440 cabling and will require an additional cable to go back to the EZ-Guide 500. This is actually a little bit cheaper because you don't need as many cables.

I haven't done a floater with this setup but I've pulled a good number of 440s out of systems and replaced them with EZ-Booms. Mostly anhydrous or liquid applications on drills. I'm not aware of any floater specific obstacles you would encounter, should be a simple swap-out and calibrate the new system.

Do you have a steering system as well? Harnessing options differ depending on what else is connected to the EZ-Guide 500.
